The Facts about FACT

FACT operates as a charity serving the Fenland, Huntingdonshire and East Cambs Areas of Cambridgeshire to people who have difficulties using conventional modes of transport. We aim to provide accessible, affordable and safe transport services. You must be a member of FACT to use this service.

We are a membership organisation, therefore groups/individuals are required to register with us before they can benefit from our services.
Our fleet of vehicles range from minibuses with seating capacity of 12 – 16 passengers some able to carry up to five wheelchair users and cars carrying one wheelchair user/two passengers. Many of our vehicles are fully accessible to accommodate wheelchair users and those that find steps difficult to use.

All drivers are trained to a nationally recognised standard – MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) which is administered nationally by the Communtiy Transport Association UK (CTA) and endorsed by ROSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) and also possess a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification aimed at improving road safety and helping to maintain high standards of driving.

We aim to achieve a good quality, friendly and flexible service and we encourage people to telephone or write in with complaints/grievances/suggestions, etc.

In conclusion, we are a Community Transport Organisation, which uses our vehicles to bring greater mobility to people living in the Fenland, Huntingdonshire and East Cambs areas of Cambridgeshire.

Serving as many eligible people as possible

This service is based on a timetable/route and members holding a valid Cambridgeshire County Council bus pass can travel for free.

This is a pre-bookable service which can be used by any individuals who have no access to transport services. This service can be used for you to visit friends/relatives, appointments, holidays etc.

MiDAS Training

We provide MIDAS Training, MIDAS stands for Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme and has been developed to promote and establish a single national standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers. Our Trainer is able to assess and train minibus drivers, equipping them with the necessary skills to handle a minibus safely, legally and confidently, with the needs of passengers in mind.

Patsy Brewin

FACT will forever pay tribute to Patsy Brewin who died in March 2015. We are deeply sorry to lose a dear and trusted colleague who was not only the original founder of FACT, but remained actively involved over a 26-year period developing an excellent community transport service for our Fenland Area which members continue to enjoy. Patsy will be sadly missed by all her friends and colleagues at FACT. As a nod to all of Patsy's hard work we have named our Befriending Club bus Patsy
